Also included in our travel package is an escape to the mountains of Mcleodganj, a cool  retreat in Himachal Pradesh. Long walks, scenic treks, breathtaking scenery and picturesque sunsets make this destination a heaven for anyone who wants to escape the chaos and climate of the urban cities.

Your tour starts with visiting the holy city of Amritsar. Living on the farm stay, a trip to the golden temple can well be made in the day to pay your tribute. Moving on, you head to Gurdaspur where you will experience living in a village stay with luxurious facilities in the middle of the farm. Leaving Gurdaspur, a few hours’ drive takes you to Mcleodganj, a cooler escape in the Himachal Pradesh. Living in a small village off Mcleodganj, you will have ample time to absorb in the nature whilst you relax and unwind with the view of the Dhauladhar range right at your hotel balcony!

Itinerary:

3 Nights Amritsar+1 Night Gurdaspur +4 Nights Mcleodganj

 

Day 1 :  Arrive Amritsar, relax and unwind at the farm stay. Evening explore the farm stay and take a tractor ride followed by dinner and Punjabi dance performance.

Day 2 : A day tour to the city, visit golden temple, Jalianwala Bagh and end the day by watching the parade ceremony at Wagah border ( carry packed lunch with you)

Day 3:  After Breakfast, take a walk along the farms and enjoy being amongst lush green/yellow plantations all around you. Lunch at the farm stay and then take a dip in the swimming pool for a little exercise and swim. Later in the day take a horse ride along the fields. End your day by putting on a turban and dancing with the Punjabi performers.

Day 4: Leave Amritsar at dawn for Gurdaspur. Stay in a farmstay with a touch of  luxury in the lap of nature while surrounded by farms all around.

Day 5: Leave for Mcleodganj, arrive at your hotel in  a quaint village facing Dhauladhar Mountains – unwind & relax. Day at leisure.

Day 6 :Visit the Mcleodganj and Bhagsu markets in the day. Lunch at a famous Tibetan cuisine restaurant.

Day 7 :Nature treks on mountains close to your hotel.

Day 8 : Day trip to Dharamshala/Dalhousie.

Day 9 : Return to Chandigarh – depart.

 

When to go:

The best time to visit Punjab is from October mid to February. This is when the climate will be cooler and enjoyable. There are also many  interesting, lively and colourful festivals like Lohri ,Baisakhi and Diwali that will make your stay more enjoyable during this period.
