You will get to stay in a quaint little village of Turtuk  located in the furthest corner of India which was part of Pakistan until 1971 , ride double humped camels in the breathtaking Nubra Valley, experience waking up to a beautiful view of the Shanti Stupa while living in a local homestay in Leh, enjoy the warm and friendly Ladakhi hospitality, explore century old Buddhist trails, take a chilling and adventurous river rafting ride, eat and interact with locals, experience snow, learn to make Ladakhi food and stay in picture perfect Ladakhi destinations. Your Ladakhi Tour will start at Leh, in a comfortable and hospitable homestay where you will stay with a local Ladakhi. You will then enjoy the next day exploring the beautiful Monasteries around Leh. You then drive towards Nubra Valley while passing through Khardung-La; the highest motorable road in the world. Here is where you will enjoy a camel ride. After staying in your Swiss tents in Nubra Valley, you will head to the furthest village on the Indian map, Turtuk village where you will stay for a night. After Turtuk you head back to Leh, seeing the Diskit monastery en route. Day 6 is when you will enjoy the adrenaline pumping river rafting activity between Chilling and Nimo. After a relaxing night sleep at your homestay in Leh, you will now head to Pangong Lake, located 14,000 ft above sea level and close to the Indo- China border. Your offbeat Ladakh holiday will end in the Leh from where you will fly back home.

 Day 1: Arrival

Arrive at Leh’s Kushok Bakula Airport, World’s highest airport. Our chauffeur would drive you to a friendly Homestay in Leh, where a local Ladakhi family welcomes you with open arms and warm hearts. Experience the simple ways of life here. You can even participate in the everyday activities, take back local recipes and make friends with the locals.

Check into the room styled in an elegant fashion and fully equipped with high-quality modern amenities. We advise rest to get acclimatised to the high altitude of Ladakh, altitude sickness is for real. After sunset, enjoy a light walk to the local market.

Day 2:  Visit Monasteries
Wake up to the view of mighty Stok Kangri & quaint Shanti Stupa outside your windows. After breakfast, head off for the monastery circuit. One and a half hour drive away from Leh is Hemis Gompa, the largest monastery of Ladakh. Surrounded by the mountain walls, Hemis is one of the oldest and the wealthiest monastery in India and famous for its rich collection of ancient remnants like copper Buddha, stupas of gold and silver, murals and various artifacts. Half an hour from Hemis is beautiful Thikshey Gompa. Here you’ll see the life of a monk, their kitchen, dining hall, library and study room. The panoramic view of Ladakh from Thikshey is just mind blowing. And from your camera lens, it will look even more beautiful. Have lunch at Thikshey. Also visit Shey Palace and Sindhu Ghat. Reach back to the homestay in Leh in the evening.

Day 3: Leh to Nubra via Khardung- la
Leave early morning for Nubra valley via the world’s highest motorable road- Khardung-la Pass. Enjoy snow fighting and clicking fun pictures at Khardung-la. Nubra is also popular as the valley of flowers, its love at first sight with the beautiful vast valley for every visitor. Proceed towards the white sand dunes of Hunder valley, ride on the unique Bactrian (double humped) camels. Check out the magical hot springs at Panamik. Stay overnight at the comfortable hotel or Swiss camp in Nubra.

Day 4: Nubra to Turtuk 
After breakfast, leave for Turtuk Village, which is as close as you can get to Pakistan. It’s the last village in Shayok River Valley. Along with the breathtaking views of the valley, experience a different culture and different life of Turtuk village inspired mainly by Baltistan. Enjoy the evening with local music and food. Spend the night in comfortable tents.

Day 5: Turtuk to Leh
After a wonderful stay at Turtuk, it’s time to move back to Leh. On the way visit Diskit monastery and see its 80 ft tall statue of Lord Buddha. In the evening, come back to Leh and check into your homestay. Enjoy yummy food.

Day 6: White water rafting in river Zanskar from Chilling to Nimo (Grade 3)
Okay, today is going to be the most adventurous day of the tour, the day to get that adrenalin rush. Rafting in Ladakh is all together a different experience that you can’t have anywhere else in the world. Enjoy the spectacular landscapes, old monasteries, wildlife, riverside villages, and the ice cold water. These 2-1/2 hrs are filled with loads of fun and adventure. After having lunch at Nimo, drive back to Leh. En-route see the magical Magnetic Hill and Gurudwara Pather Saheb. Dinner and overnight stay at the homestay.

Day 7: Leh to Pangong Lake
Leave your hotel in the morning, drive to one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Pangong Lake needs no introduction and thanks to “3 Idiots” for that. Pass picturesque Indus valley by side valley of Chemrey and Sakti. Cross Chang-la pass. And if lucky, you may get glimpses of the wild life here-horses, yak, wild-ass, ibex and Himalayan marmot. Pangong Lake is 14,000 ft above sea level. It is 6-7 kilometer wide and over 130 km long, bisected by the international Indo-China border. The beauty of Pangong is just unimaginable and you would want to capture it into your cameras and eyes from every angle. Experience the peace and silence that you had been craving for, just by looking at the color changing lake. Have the evening at leisure around the lake and overnight stay at the camp or guest house. Stars seem so close to you at night here that you feel like raising your hand to touch them.
Day 8: Pangong to Leh
Wake up to the beautiful sunrise. Spend some quality time at Pangong. And leave for Leh after breakfast. Check in to your room in Leh. Enjoy the evening followed by freshly cooked food and good sleep.
Day 9: Leh and around
Have a leisure day in Leh. Enjoy walking in the narrow lanes and hilly roads of Leh. Visit Leh Palace, Sankar Gompa, Leh mosque, Chokhang Vihar. Also visit the war memorial Hall of Fame. Do souvenir shopping in Leh main bazar. Enjoy exploring Leh city on your own. Before sunset, visit Shanti Stupa and enjoy the breath-taking views of the scenic city. Watch as the sky changes hues, and put your cameras to use. And Stay the night at the homestay.

Day 10: Time to go back
After a wonderful trip, it’s time to say bye to Ladakh. With amazing pictures, beautiful memories and packed bags, board the flight. When to go:

The best time to visit Ladakh is from May to September. This is when the climate will be enjoyable. If you want to experience snow fall or cooler weather we recommend going there in September mid. If you are the adventurous kinds and wants to head to Ladakh in the midst of the snowfall, then you should head in January or February. That is also when you can get to do the Chadar or frozen river walk (Separate packages for winter in Ladakh will be launched later)
